1.Introduction
Trip Tunes is designed to help create personalized road-trip playlists while collecting as little personal information as possible.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Trip Tunes may process, what information is stored, and how that information is used.
By using Trip Tunes, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2.Information Collection and Use
Trip Tunes does not require a Trip Tunes account. It processes information you provide or choose to share as described below.
If you voluntarily subscribe to the Trip Tunes mailing list, Trip Tunes collects your email address. Playlist generation, sharing, and optional exports also process the information described in this policy.
Providing an email address is entirely optional and is not required to use any feature of the app.
Email addresses may be used to send occasional Trip Tunes updates, special playlists, product announcements, and information about other apps or products created by the developer.
3.Playlist Generation
When generating playlists, Trip Tunes processes information such as destinations, trip details, and music preferences in order to create personalized playlist recommendations.
This information is transmitted only as necessary to provide playlist-generation features and is not stored by Trip Tunes after processing is complete.
Trip Tunes does not maintain a database of user trips or listening preferences.
4.Shared Tapes
Trip Tunes allows users to create shareable tapes.
When a user chooses to share a tape, information necessary to recreate that shared experience may be stored so that the tape can be accessed by others using the share link.
Shared tapes are not associated with a user account, name, email address, or other identifying information.
5.Mailing List
Trip Tunes optionally allows users to subscribe to a mailing list by providing an email address.
Email addresses are used solely for mailing-list communications and are not linked to trips, playlists, shared tapes, or app activity.
Trip Tunes does not sell, rent, or share mailing-list information with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
Subscribers may unsubscribe at any time using the instructions included in mailing-list communications or by contacting the developer.
6.Data Storage
Trip Tunes generally operates without user accounts or persistent storage of personal information.
The app may store information locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account to support app functionality and synchronization across your devices.
Backend services support playlist generation, shared tapes, and optional mailing-list subscriptions. User-initiated exports also send playlist information to Soundiiz for temporary storage as described below.
7.Third-Party Services
Trip Tunes relies on third-party services to provide certain functionality, including playlist generation, cloud synchronization, playlist transfers, and app operation.
These services receive only the information necessary to perform their function on behalf of Trip Tunes.
8.Exporting to Other Music Services
When you choose an export to Spotify or another music service through Soundiiz, Trip Tunes sends the playlist name, description, song titles, and artist names to Soundiiz, operated by BRICKOFT, to create a temporary playlist-transfer page. This happens only when you choose the Soundiiz export option.
Soundiiz has informed us that this flow creates an anonymous account associated with the browser session and retains the anonymous token and attached playlist data for up to two days, after which it deletes them.
You may choose to convert that anonymous account into a standard Soundiiz account during this period. Information retained in a standard account is governed by the Soundiiz Privacy Policy, including its account and data-deletion options. You may contact Soundiiz at contact@soundiiz.com about information held by Soundiiz.
Authentication with the destination music service takes place through Soundiiz and that service. Trip Tunes does not receive or store your destination-service password, authentication credentials, or access tokens. The destination service's own privacy policy also applies.
9.Privacy by Design
Trip Tunes is intentionally designed to minimize data collection.
Trip Tunes itself does not require a personal user profile. Choosing to sign in to a destination music service or create a standard Soundiiz account is governed by that service's privacy policy.
Trip Tunes does not maintain accounts, and shared tapes are not connected to email addresses or other identifying information.
If a user subscribes to the mailing list, their email address is stored separately and is not connected to trips, playlists, shared tapes, or app activity.
10.Security
Reasonable measures are taken to protect information stored by Trip Tunes and its service providers. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11.Children's Privacy
Trip Tunes does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to Trip Tunes, please contact the developer so that the information can be removed.
12.Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document.
Continued use of Trip Tunes after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
